    Hi All,

I need a new set of tyres..so im looking for a good car tyre that doesnt cost the earth.

Obviously I wouldnt want to compromise on safety..however I'd like your feedback on some of the brands that you find good..that aren't necessarily some of the costly big names in the industry!

    Thanks folks!

how about a round one? I heard they are better than square ones

About brands, Vredestein, Michelin, Toyo, Falken, Bridgestone

Uniroyal rainsport are a decent tyre, and very suitable for our conditions.

A solid mid-range tyre. Don't go for a budget tyre no matter what guff you're told by the fitter. Honestly, your life is worth more than a hundred or two saved.

I use Bridgestone Turanza T001's. 235/45/17 were 125euro each from my local guy (he's cheaper than Eiretyres).

I find them excellent quality, but don't last huge milage (about 12k) on the back of a C-Class.

A lot will depend on the size and speed/load ratings you need for your car.
But in general I have found Nokian to be exceptional in terms of wear/grip and price.
I am currently running Michelin Cross Climate but previously had Nokian Weatherproof and found them a very quiet and hardwearing tyre with good wear for not much money.

I'm currently on Dunlop Sport Maxx, from reviews and posters from this site. They seem to liked in terms of grip and wear. I had to replace one at a cost of €125 225/45/17

What size are you looking at OP?

Can't say I'd recommend Uniroyals myself. Average grip and heavy wear from front and rear.

I personally like to go for the best tyre I can afford and try to go premium where I can. Normally it can only end up being €10-€15 more expensive per corner than the midrange tyre and fro €60 it's worth it to me to have the best.

Had them previously. Very good tyre.

Now on Goodyear Eagle F1's. Bought from Openeo.
