Saw what looked like a black Nissan micra flipped on its roof on the left hand side if u are heading to laragh, about 2-3km maybe from the gap crossroads in the direction of glenmacnass waterfall.
Indicators wer flashing and 4 people standing around looking at it, possibly the occupants.
    Hope everyone is ok.

Drove that route today, road was lethal. Cars driving up the hill into Roundwood sideways to fight the camber so cars from the Laragh direction had to stop to give them the space. Earlier sleet and hail had froze and the snow then came on top of it. Coming into the bend at Anamoe trout farm the car behind me went sideways across the road. And there's always one in a 4x4 that think they're invulnerable and end up spinning their wheels in the middle of the road and with their foot down.

What time was that? met a micra coming down the featherbeds towards me today, was flying and mostly on wrong side of road, when he got close enough i saw he was holding a go pro even though there were people in the car with him. Idiot!

Was with my fatheri law yesterday I his car. We drove on packed snow to the ski centre. He never lost his grip once. Says a lot for the use of winter tyres when necessary.

Think we might have been 2 cars back from you! Was that a kayaker turning into trout farm (presumably to do a run down jacksons)?

I think it might have been, caught him in my mirror losing it and when I went around the bend and checked again there was no sign so I thought he/she might have just decided to slow right down after the fright.

    I'd guess around 2:30pm.
    Was it black?

He did loose it in the turn alright, but got it back again and carried on in. Was mental enough through roundwood alright. A vintage car was skidding it's way up the hill, accompanied by a lad running along on it's downhill side shoving it manually back in line with each slide. Seemed to work!

In fairness, that streamer caught a lot of people unawares/ unprepared, especially as it was pretty localised (even around Roundwood one side got it worse than the other!). On any slope it's always a fine line between carrying the speed to get up, without going so fast to cause issues if you lose control.

Would have been around then alright, think it was black. He was coming down the hill noticeably faster than other cars and wasn't on the left of the road. Was wondering why he didn't give the gopro to the person in passenger seat and thought he'd end up in a ditch, didn't take too long by sounds of it....wonder when he'll upload the footage

LOL, yeah. you were definitely behind me so, I was waiting for that young lad to fall on his face running alongside that car through the village.

    Not in my experience.

This reads that anybody with a go pro is an idiot. What is this based on?

An idiot is an idiot, regardless of wether or not he has a go pro, garmin, mobile phone or any other type of recording device. Do you see the silliness of your post?

What about "Micras, the choice of idiots everywhere"? That doesn't suit your agenda though.

What colour top was he wearing? Maybe that could be the choice of idiots everywhere too.

It's a generalisation, not a good one to be posting in the cycling forum, considering the amount of people that use go pros and the likes.

    As I said, my experience.
Maybe it is a generalisation, so what, Im fairly sure as perfect as you clearly are, youve made a few in your time.
Do I see the sillyness of my post?_ No I dont, I dont over analyse everything I say and hate myself for it cos it might offend the sensibilties of politically correctness gone mad folk like your good self.

There's no maybes about it. Judging everybody based on your limited experience is a generalisation. Generalisation - a general statement or concept obtained by inference from specific cases.

I try avoid making generalisations as it comes off as very ignorant. Calling everybody an idiot isn't a very nice thing, you can at least agree on that. Just because you witness idiots recording themselves being idiots on youtube, doesn't make everybody with the same device an idiot. I mean, the fact that you used such an strong word to describe your feelings towards users of such devices speaks volumes. I mean, you loathe an entire generation? Wow...

There's plenty of people who purchased go pros to record dangerous driving and bring said wreckless drivers to justice.

Would a reckless driver ever be wreckless?

    Sorry couldn't resist it.

Ok, this will be my last response to you.
Thanks for the dictionary definition of generalisation, how self important of you.
I had a go at users of a piece of technology, big bloody deal. Go and find yourself a real cause to preach and pontificate to others over. Im not perfect, not everything I type or say is perfect and I make mistakes, but for someone to be so exercised to ensure a person who criticised gadget fans learn the error of their ways, well thats just plain odd, and smacks of a huge level of self importance and a holier than thou attitude of the highest order.
If you have genuinely never generalised then preach away, otherwise climb down off your high horse.
Dont hold your breath for an apology. I´d shudder to think how you react to real injustice.
    Good day to you.
