Im trying to figure out if ive been charged twice for my nct, i booked online and paid with my credit card im almost sure, it charged me as soon as i booked it, but after looking at my bank account statement it says it charged me another 55 on the 12th..

just wondering if anyone that booked online did they charge u before or after ur test?

If you are certain you have been charged twice then contact your credit card company, they will be able to pursue them for a chargeback if it's in error.

I had a similar issue. I thought I was charged twice for my test, but the bank (BoI) said this happens a lot and that my balance would be readjusted which it was.

    Give your bank a ring.

The current system of booking is not very satisfactory.
They now seek card number when booking and I too thought I had paid online yet when I arrived for test, he charged again for it saying no payment went through.
I didn't check back yet to see if I did pay twice.

The payment is only taken when you go for the test thats how it works for me anyway.

After you'd paid via credit card you should have got a confirmation email/text in which it says 'your test is now booked here is your ref number blah blah blah , please note payment will not be deducted from your card until day of test'.

Edit : actually I just checked my mail and this is what it says :

Thank you for confirming your National Car Test (NCT) appointment (See Below). As you have pre-authorised a payment for your NCT on line, the relevant fee will be taken from your payment card on the day of your NCT
