Single on Valentines

    What are everybody's plans?

Town is going to be packed with annoying smushy couples so I'm going to stay at home with my mother and cry into the cat.

Or get hammered and wander aimlessly around town as I am known to do during times of loneliness

Single myself this year, not that my ex and I did anything for Valentines anyway (too much effort for him).

Got myself a bottle of wine for the weekend, so I'll have that, arse around online and hopefully next year I won't be single.

16 years together I would have been out in 12

I'll probably treat myself to a nice dinner.

I started a thread last week about people's feelings and opinions on the day and if it causes them to reflect in any way. I think it's on page 246 now :p

As a single woman tomorrow doesn't bother me at all. Of course it would be lovely to share it with someone but there isn't a "someone" and that's that really :) In fact it's been a good few years since I wasn't single for Valentines.

Walk about the house in my skiddies with a belly full of pizza and cider while cheese and sauce crusts over around my gob and rattling the windows with my belching. If I'm going to be single, it's going to be for a ****ing reason..

I do that most days. Except replace cider with coke and gob with hair.

It's going to be the best V day ever, I get the day to myself, just gave her a card and I won't see her again until Monday evening....

Watching music channel with a few beers, a late lie in in the morning, take in a match and a few beers tomorrow and a lazy evening, heaven...

Does anyone really actually care about valentines?
I always thought it was just an excuse for people in relationships to have a row!

Yeah, single people because it's a reminder of their singledom or their heartbreak if they have recently enough broken up with someone.

Couples who only got together recently - it's a really nice day for them. :)

Don't think anyone else pays much heed to it other than lip service.

It would be very silly in my opinion to make a big deal out of it if in a relationship a long time - it is only a Hallmark day.

Would you not do what you normally do on a Sunday? I'm in a relationship and that's what we'll be doing.

It sure isn't the same as not being alone but you have to make the best of it so you might as well enjoy the bit of self love you give yourself :)

    Nothing special at all!

I am going to meet up with the love of my life after my barring order expires :)

We will sip martinis under the corsican sun as a serenade her with my own quality rendition of "Good Vibrations"

I just woke up, gonna make myself the Chinesey dessert of honey bananas fried in coconut batter for breakfast :) then go for a nice (and brisk - need to burn the honeyed banana calories!) walk by the sea, get some more good food in on the way, then lounge around, browse the web and plan my next holiday, and generally treat myself adoringly! It's the only way to not feel like you're missing out as a singleton ;)

    Happy Valentine's everyone!

    Fun weekend, reasonable rates.

Oh yeah I know - today is going to be the same Sunday for me as any Sunday. I will admit I do feel a bit of a pang on Valentine's day if I'm single, but it would be pointless to get upset about it imo (unless as I said, heartbreak/recent break-up). I'm single all the other days too - why zone in on just one?! :pac:

It's the one time of year i am glad to be single. The pressure I see some lads putting on themselves for it is ridiculous.

A large pinch of salt needed there too. Those Valentine legends have no proof whatsoever.

It's just another day for many - whether alone or not.

I'm heading out with a group of friends. Just so happens we are all free and in the same vicinity for the first time in months and so decided why not.

    Party time.

Some people do care about Valentines. It's an excuse to be romantic. One year he sent me chocolate, a teddy, flowers, a balloon all that. It was nice.

It is lovely, especially early in a relationship, but part of me does think there's an element of "it's the done thing, you have to because someone said so and everyone else is doing it". I think such gestures can be made any day.
However a day celebrating love and romance in general is hardly a bad thing.

Yeah it really can become "just the done thing" and I think that kinda ruins it. Half of me wants the fuss and half of me thinks why do I want the same thing I see all my friends getting.
