    Hi guys,

have the above system and use it to heat radiators and heat water, I notice excess water on the ground underneath the flue a couple of days back and saw that it was dripping from a copper pipe beside the flue, now there is a pressure relieve valve beside an expansion vessel, now when I first noticed the issue with the system on I saw the the pressure guage was just below the red warning zone. I shut the system down, I twisted a red pressure relieve valve and I could hear a hissing noise and the pressure guage dropped down its readings and is now halfway when on, but still I have water dripping from the external copper pipe beside the flue. Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this? the rads and water heat up ok

    Thanks

Perhaps deflated or ruptured expansion vessel.

Both your expansion vessel and your pressure relief valve need attention, possibly replacement.
Get whoever services your boiler to take a look at it.

Thanks lads sounds like the expansion vessel then, any idea roughly the cost of replacing that? I've attached a picture of it, also how quickly should I get this fixed? I'd it something that needs immediate fixing or can it wait a week or two (until payday lol)

It depends on how long it was leaking but another week should be ok if you limit the amount of time the boiler is on

Not sure if its the expansion vessel now it might be a leaky PRV, as even with the system off water is dripping out of the overflow pipe! Anyone know if Gasparts.ie over in Rathcoole are still in business?

Not sure but you won't be able to buy or especially fit parts unless your Rgi
