Exporting car to UK

So I will be living in the UK for the next few years and decided to bring my Irish reg car over. So after checking all the hoops I am booked in for a VRT export exam (NCT) in a few weeks. Its a 2012 Audi A6.

Someone has just said to me I will have to get the dials changed to pass the MOT in the UK and get registered. But when I look up the legislation in UK it says car must be capable of displaying miles and km. The Audi can afaik, the dial is km only but the digital speedo can be mph or kph so to me that seems ok.

Anyone done this before or know what the situation really is?

    Thanks

Clocks will need to be in miles in big and km in small.

There are places that specializes in this change keep all receipts and such for when selling in future.

Yes but if the digital speedo can show mph this is where I am unsure if thats sufficient. hence why Im asking,

    From teh UK gov https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/222586/dg_071776.pdf
That a speedometer has been fitted which is capable of indicating speed in both miles per hour and
kilometres per hour, either simultaneously, or by operation of a switch.
Note: We can not accept secondary devices, hand written changes or multiple stickers applied to the
speedometer. We can only accept the changes detailed below.
The speedometer must be marked up to the maximum speed of the vehicle, with graduations at 1, 2, 5, or
10mph, and with values at intervals not exceeding 20mph. For this change we can accept the following
    options.
    a) That the factory fitted speedometer is dual marked as standard
    b) The existing (digital) speedometer is, permanently, re-programmed, through a standard feature of the
vehicle, to display the vehicle speed in mph
    c) A miles per hour speedometer is fitted in-place of the factory fitted unit
    d) A professional, single, miles per hour, overlay is applied directly to the speedometer face plate, not the
glass front plate (the overlay must be durable and accurate, with markings visible in both day and night
    driving conditions).
    e) A dual marked dial / facia has been added as a replacement to the factory fitted one

So do any Audi peoples know if the digi speedo would be sufficient just put to MPH, and would the above mean it would have to be locked to mph (if thats even possible?)

Toyota yaris would be best example.

It shows miles covered but you could always change digital display miles to km.

So if that can be done its fine.

It's probably worth more to sell over there than here, you'll probably get about 5k back in Vrt, wouldn't the simplest thing be to go to a breakers yard over there and get a set of mph clocks for it and get somebody to code them then to the car, can't see it costing much more than €150 in total.

Why not try and see if someone has imported the same model from the UK and wants to swap their mph dial for a km dial?

I have a UK Golf and would love to swap the dial for a km one.
