Quite simply, if you had to do a switcheroo, which county of the 26 would you give away and which county from Northern Ireland would you have join us?

Give away: Donegal - Sure they sound like them as it is and parts of it are more northerly than some of Northern Ireland.

Annex: Antrim - It has the Giant's Causeway, Belfast City and a stunning coastal drive.

Worse than being hated, Carlow is so irrelevant that it's often forgotten about in these type of questions. See also, Leitrim.

Take Derry, they really know how to build a good wall in Derry.

Give away Dublin. Sure isn't it full of Jackeens anyway.

    <Runs away...> :D

Nah, keep Cork, they aren't the worst. Take Limerick sure, and we'll have Antrim back, and all those wimmins with the sexy accents.

No comparison - Carlow is forgotten about but Leitrim has never been proven to exist.

I'd give them Leitrim in exchange for a cup of tea. Fair deal.

They can have Cavan and we'd take Antrim because it has Bushmills Distillery :)

Give away Dublin. Dunno if the north would have them though. May not want to go back to the dark old days of regular shootings and murder. Take Derry, for no other reason than I'd never have to hear it called Londonderry again.

Never wanted to be in Ireland anyway

Give them Louth, we'll take Lough Neagh.

    This too shall pass.

Give them Kerry, just to see Michael Healy Ray knocking on doors down the Shankill road asking for a number one.

    Can we take Yorkshire?

    Monaghan!

Doesn't matter a damn to us who's in charge. The Queen built more houses and fed more wains in Donegal than DeValera ever did.

If they take the county do take all the inhabitants if they do do they can have Tipperary . We can't give em refugee status if they want to stay.

Then we'll take Armagh to poss off all the diesel smugglers

I think we should swap people not counties.

I suggest we give away David Quinn and we take Jamie Dornan.

    Give away: Monaghan
    Take: the Isle of Anglesey

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

    +1 for Cavan.

I've genuinely never met anybody nice from Cavan.

Give Queen's Country (Co Laoise) and take Somerset.

Take the 6 counties and give them nothing...except maybe a bill for all the "trouble" they put us through because of greedy landgrabbing and colonialism...seems the obvious choice to me.

And that's not being a "shinnerbot" that's being an Irish person who's proud to be Irish and not about to apologise for wanting my fourth green field back...it's been on "loan" now long enough.

    Roscommon.. Pointless county. Take fermanagh.

We'll be delighted to offer you the delightful province of Armagh.

    Pluses: Cathedral
Hard to sell: Lurgan/Portadown - look, once their yours you can do what the hell you want with them.

Don't want. Louth. You hang on to it, we've had a look from the train going up and down to Dublin and we're not fussed.

We'd take Leitrim, on the basis that no one lives there and there wouldnt be much fuss.

Hang on to Donegal, sure it's nice to have somewhere to spend the euros when we go on holiday. It's quite nice and we wouldnt want to go ruining it anyway.
