    H,

I was wondering if there are any TT open to non club riders during the year at all? They are quite common in parts of the U.K. But hadn't seen many advertised here. I think I read they used to do them in Phoenix park a few years back?

    Thanks

Not many. Cuchulainn do a few up in Dundalk and the IVCA do put a lot on for it's own members - beyond that it's the odd one plus whatever championships are run. There are also a few put on in Ulster.

As Beasty says, there aren't many open TTs. Near Dublin you've got:

The Hammond Memorial TT in Roundwood, Wicklow, which will be held in April this year.

The Naas Open TT, which is in Kilcullen, Kildare, usually in June.

Sorrento's Danny O'Shea Memorial TT, which is in Kilpedder, Wicklow in June.

And if I read my ci licence categories correctly, you only need a club competition licence for TT's?

Correct, although you would also needa set of legs.. :p

Let me know if you are doing any of them.

    Is the roundwood one flat?

It's lumpy enough for a TT.

Real pity its not 16kms. Would feel hard done by not doing a 10miler. I know I could keep going until I reach 16kms ☺

True, bit on the short side but the road lay out seems to dictate the length. Don't think I'd fancy going any further than the roundabout.:D
Still great to get the TT bike out this early in the year.

I'm tempted to do this will there be anybody about on normal road bikes or is it very serious I don't want to be the only one there without the skin suit and all the rest of it! It'll be my first time I just fanci d giving something different a go!

    Thanks

I would suspect there will be a mix of bikes, I'd head out anyway, as while you may not have a chance of winning its great fun and will only stand to you.
