Free US Shipping Address

Just thought this might be of interest to anyone who buys and ships stuff from the US.

A service called ViaBox offers users a free US shipping address that you can send items to and then have them forwarded to your home address.

They use a variety of shipping options and the cost depends in the weight of the item and who you choose to ship it with.

The address is handy in that you can send items there that wouldn't normally ship here for whatever reason or shipping might be cheaper this way instead of direct from the retailer.

I can't post links because I'm a new user but a quick Google search should sort you out. Signing up is free and there are no membership fees.

They will also store items for up to 60 days and in cases where you buy multiple items from different retailers around the same time, they will repack the items in to one shipment so you're not hit with a bigger shipping cost. You'll also be sent a photo of whatever packages are received so you can see what condition it's in.

If this doesn't belong here, feel free to delete! Hope this helps someone out!

    Looks useful

Here is the link to the site:

They also have a shipping calculator here:

Looks like they leave it to you to declare value of goods for import/duty where as other export PO box companies will pre-pay duty for you before shipping to Ireland.

Yeah, I keep thinking I'll sign up to one of these things, but the costs for shipping are ridiculous and usually more than the cost of what I'm having shipped over in the first place. For the thing I want shipped, the USPS quoted cost is less than 10 USD (for first-class large envelope postage) and the cost quoted by Viabox was almost 30 USD for the cheapest option.

Prices still pretty crazy though, I just entered the weight and dimensions for my large coffee mug on my desk as a test and the cheapest shipping was $30 and the rest were in the hundreds, Amazons .com site will ship stuff cheaper than that and they have pretty much everything.

Yeah but what does the street value of 10kgs work out at? You'd still be doing ok.

I priced a golf club, shipping is $190-$600+. Pity, it would be very handy but they seem to multiply shipping costs to cover their costs, they could have put a handling fee on top of the usual shipping costs and I'm sure they would have a lot of business.

Give Shipito a go. I used them in the past and all went well.
