Where do people go for their invitations? would you go to a designer, agency? a wedding planner? I've been looking around a few places who does everyone recommend?

I used Vistaprint and thought they were good. Very easy and efficient. I used them for the thank-you cards too.

If you've the inclination for a bit of DIY, look at cardsandpockets.com. In the process of getting my sisters through them, with them doing the printing and so far so good.

Have a look at Bluebell invites on facebook. I went with them and she's lovely. Very reasonable too.

Optimal print have a good range and are reasonable. Wedding print.ie are good quality and quite cheap. I'm going with the craft tree in Mayo, more expensive than the previous two but I like one of their designs. They have a price list on their website also

I ordered a few samples from www.rocoandmiley.com today. I saw some lovely, floral designs on their website that I love. They're based in Belfast. We'll order from them if their invites are of good quality.

I looked at SO MANY invites I'm lucky my wedding is still on - I drove poor H2B mad.

I looked at so many of the lovely Irish companies but while they do lovely invites, the styles were not what I was looking for. Most places do the pinteresty/vintagey style or traditional - I was looking for something quite modern.

I also got samples from Wedding Paper Divas and Paperless Post - both were lovely but not quite ideal and the US ordering was a faff and then I left it too late anyway. But having seen the US ones I was fixed on the 5x7 sizing which ruled out many other companies.

Had designed myself and got a sample from a local printer - wasn't happy with card stock.

back to the drawing board, picked up one of the bridal magazines and started googling every company in it - found one that had a style that was close, contacted them, had a chat about what I wanted, shared the design I had done, she came back with a modified version of hers that incorporated my thoughts, couple of tweaks and order done. Invites in my hand less than two weeks from picking up that magazine. They are fab & I've had loads of compliments on them from my guests

http://www.coolandcompany.ie/ - I highly recommend them - so easy to work with, good value, great invites. I have put more efforts into hte invites than anything else!

I do think weddingpaperdivas is a good place to start to get an idea of the style you like. It helps when selecting a supplier. I know many will do custom styles too of course.

I would assume 97% of people do not. I of course had to want something thta is not 'in fashion' with local suppliers!
