How can the Water Supplied & The Wastewater Removed be the exact same on each bill ?

    Hello,

Can you please tell me how the volume of water supplied and the volume of water removed are the exact same on each of my bills to date ?

Is there absolutely no possibility that:

    - some water might be split on the floor and has evaporated, so Irish Water never got to dispose of it for me ?

    - might have been used to make ice cubes and still be in the freezer, so again has not been disposed of by Irish Water ?

    -  or was perhaps consumed then the person who consumed it left the premises and "disposed" of it through their body at another location ?

    Thanks,

    G.

We need meters on the exit pipes.

Ideally provided by another party with no connection to Irish Water.

On an unrelated matter, should your username have been changed to "Annelies Ilena" ? :)

    Thanks,

    G.

    Hi garrettod,

    Thanks for contacting our page.

The Water Services (no. 2) Act 2013 specifies that wastewater from a domestic premise is deemed to equal to the volume of water that enters the property.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else that we can help you with.

    Kind regards,
    Amy

    I have another question.

Irish water says that their price per cubic meter is similar to other European countries. Why then is Waste water charged the same as water.

While in the Uk is the waste water is nearly half the price of water per cubic meter.

Surely it is not the same process providing water as getting rid of it of waste water.

Considering all the rain we've had lately I'd imagine the actual amount of waste water removed would be a couple of orders of magnitude greater than the water supplied, so we're getting a good deal really! :P

    Dear Amy,

Does your invoice state this, or show the number referenced to be a default amount based on the legislation you refer to ?

    Thanks,

    G.

The pricing plan was set by the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) and will be reviewed again in 2018.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
