    Two for me tomorrow.

Speculative 1 first. have had 1 pt win on Incomparable in the first at Southwell. Multiple C and D winner off marks of 59 and 55. Down to a mark of 51 which it won off during the summer in beverly. Not getting any younger but has shown he is well capable of this mark and was dropped 4lbs by the handicapper for its last run. At the price worth a small investment and I think 25s is generous.

Fancy Gabriel the Thug in the first at Chlemsford City. Bottom weigth has won on AW off marks of 65 and 60. Runs off 60 tomorrow. Never run at the track so I am taking it on trust he will handle it. Decent 4th last run and dropped 1lb for it. 12/1 looks a couple of points too big. 1 pt win.

    Clonmel 3.30
    Rubi light @ 9/4
Will go off in front and come home in the same position, that bright new dawn is seriously over rated, sir des champs took a while to reel rubi light back in earlier in the season, same tactics would see him win this.

Totally agree. BND has ability but he's a dog and decent ground and a big field would see him at his best I think. ruby could be close to evens at the off

    Meydan 3.35
    Naadir @9/1
I'm a big fan of caspian prince and almost always back him but I feel the selection is going to be a star at the carnival, he has kept better company than these recently chasing home muharar in a really strong race, finally dropped to this distance as he is a strong travelling horse over 6f he should have no problem coping with it, he is usually held up and with my old pal caspian prince in the field will get the strong pace to suit, 4 places on offer so I'm going max e/w

    Meydan 5.20
    Star empire@9/2
I put a small bet e/w on him last time mainly because I couldn't find much horses with any form but this guy always runs an honest race, this race has 2 or 3 horse with form but they still have question marks, famous kid has too much weight and this is battersea first race in Dubai so I'm taking them on with the top weight, 3 pounds higher than his win last time.

    Chelmsford 5.10
    Giovanni di bicci @13/8
Won with any amount in hand last week after a year out, previously shown nothing but looked well ahead of his mark last time the last day and with a 7 pound claimer effectively putting him 1 pound below the mark he won off the last day, he should be hard to beat.

    Chelmsford 6.10
    Saved my bacon@9/4
Should beat bosham on 8 pounds better terms than last time, the two have it between them I think.

    Why so confident Francie?

    Why so confident Francie?
Ran last time out at Chelmsford and could not have had a worse race. It seems that a wide draw (that it got) on that course when up against decent opposition is a total coffin box, so it never really had a chance. When it came around the bend for the straight, it was forced out wide by about half the track, allowing the winner to scoot up the inside (how often do winners seems to do this at Chelmsford!?). Anyway, horse finished very well with loads in hand under no effort whatsoever (thanks a lot Adam Kirby). Reckon the lessons have been learned from that for today.

All weather gaf tracks are hardly places for "is the winner" comments, actually that comment should never be used but especially in donkey derbys at donkey tracks for races generally worth less than 7 or 8 grand. Probably only half the field trying and who's to say yours is one on a going day?
Good luck and hopefully it is a good 1 but never get the need for them kind of comments.

Fancy Mr McGregor in the 14:10 at towcester for a place.

7 pound claimer aboard and should go close.

    Currently 11/1

I've also went with another ew bet in the 1:55 at clonmel "let her cry"

16/1 currently, more in hope than expectation I should add.

    Best of luck

Couple of quid on General Tufto in the 4 o'clock, won this race last year of 17lbs higher, done nothing since but worth a few pennies at 65s.

Turned like a barge when coming around the bend. Think a less sharp track would suit Navy Seal better.

Might have something tomorrow at a monster price. A definite winner this time :pac:

St Patricks Day looked like a perfect horse for a track like Newmarket or Epsom, took awhile to get going, but when it did.....

Frosted was very impressive at Meydan. Raging I didn't take 12/1 for the World Cup the other day but took 8s. Sofi's Spirit a big price tomorrow in the second at Dundalk 20/1 but it's not a bad race, probably fear Mr Right most or Mattydillon but would probably need the run.

Backed buraq in the race just run at Chelmsford, drawn stall 2 and came out well enough in mid division ran the first half furlong along the rail then brings his horse wide for rest of the race and ends up 3 wide, on his last run he stayed on well down the inner so there was no need to move off the rail that's blatant trying to get a few pounds off him, I only backed it because it looked like it needed a few pounds off and Callum shepherd was booked, then the jockey change came.

Am I right in hearing Duchess of Marmite and Mr Kelly hand no luck again tonight?

Never looked like winning, held up and they never went a gallop so turned into a sprint, did stay on well tho, jockey rode to instructions id imagine

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,135 ✭✭✭Gregk961

Looks like a difficult ride and the race didn't work out to suit, to be fair. He probably wouldn't have won but had nowhere to go off the bend when looking like he was about to hit top gear aswell. I'd imagine Hughes gives pretty exact riding instructions so the jockey is very limited on what he can do tactically, but delivering a horse late off a crawl like that is never ideal.

Can Duchess of Marmite still qualify for AW championship day?
