Which vacuum cleaner?

I use a regular Miele domestic vacuum and a good extension lead.

The battery ones or the 12V ones are bloody useless, or at least all the ones I've used.

The house dyson is my favourite choice ........ er ........ my only choice come to think of it.

I bought myself a Henry at Christmas!

Brilliant compared to the cheap Stanley one I had!

Agree that a 12v machine will rarely do a good job. Handy if you've need to give it a quick going over, say if you've kids eating something and you don't want it mashed into the seats or carpets.

    Hi lads.

Thinking of buying a vacuum cleaner for the car.
Had a cheap yoke before but it was absolutely useless.

    http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=15551&langId=-1&categoryId=212473&productId=380015&storeId=11101

The reviews seem to be good on this one so swaying towards that.

    Any recommend an alternative?

As everyone has said no way - don't bother.

Buy a corded normal miele hoover with a bag, about €200

You just can't beat an old school aluminium bodied Nilfisk or a Multivax for the wet and dry option IMHO

I got one of the wet dry vacuums when they were on sale in Lidl, great suction and being a wet dry it is ideal for cleaning carpets and seats. It comes with a stainless body and gets plenty of abuse in my workshop over the last year.

Dyson for me also. Take the long house tube off and replace it with a short powered brush attachment for the car seats. Cordless too is a bonus.

Ya. I agree the 12v is going to be in a completely different league to a domestic vacuum cleaner,

I had a voucher for halfords so went for the black n decker in my original post. I only want it for giving the car a quick going over. Will still use the house hoover on the "full cleaning" days!

I dream that someday I will own a dyson

I'll let ye know what the new one is like anyway when I get around to collecting it. Halfords strike again, saying its in stock on the website and when you go to collect it it's not there!
