Jobs in the environmental Sector

Just looking at Jobs.ie and other jobsites, there seems to be a distinct lack of jobs in the environmental sector in areas such as waste management, sampling, enforcement and consulting.

Im planning to come back to Ireland from Perth ASAP and would like to know are there any job prospects in this field. A consultancy role would be my preference so I would learn all there is to know in a few years and start my own consultancy.

Hold a degree in chemistry and masters in Geochemistry. 5 years work experience as an industrial chemist, waste management consultant and geotechnical technician with 2 of those years in a senior role.

Any advice from those "on the ground" would be appreciated. Cant rely on recruitment agencies for reliable info!
