Has anyone offered the council to buy their house/flat?

Just wondered if they would pay market rates for it.

Reason I ask is someone I know has a three bed duplex that has been rented to RA clients for five years. No problems.

Now needs to sell as going abroad.

It is NOT ME! But I have time on my hands so wondered what the story was.

Given that three months notice have to be given to tenants, and the hassle of viewings while they are still there and all that.

Anyone any experience of doing this?
