    Hi,
I'm heading over to Fuengirola for a week in April with the family. I'll be able to get out for a couple of morning spins but bringing my own bike isn't really an option.
Does anyone have a recommendation for bike hire in the area and are there any routes I should check out?
The climb up to Mijas looks like a good one. Anyplace else worth a look?

Yeah the climb up to Mijas is nice.

I had my own bike so cant assist with bike rental

The A-7053 back to Fuengirola has sand traps at the bottom of the steep bits. ( for HGV's if there brakes fail) Watch out for them as the first time I did this route, I was doing about 70k with a tailwind and wasn't expecting them! you have to move out of what looks like the right-hand lane!

Lucky Daroxtar, it's a great area to cycle once you get clear of the coastal strip.

I hired from bike2malaga, found them great, sounds abit awkward with them being in the centre of the city but they are only a few minutes walk from the train station and then you can either ride home or take the bike back on the train.

Don't miss the climb up to the masts over Mijas, it's an experience but maybe don't get lost and take the secret passage to the town.

This was a lovely spin, you'd have to adapt by going up the A-7053 but lovely roads out in the countryside.

A few more spins on my strava around that date as well

I was over there last April and used these http://www.marbellarentabike.com
I found them very good and they deliver the bike to wherever you are staying. Didn't do it myself but drove up to a town called Ronda up in the hills. Would have been a lovely cycle!
