Hi just want to get a thread started about those working in the Construction/Building Industry Pay rates Exploitation etc.
With the Economy picking up and lots of Building going on & it been an election year. I think its a good time to get this issue off the ground

On a personal level if we don't be part of a Union things will only get worse.

I thought these collective agreements were no longer binding from 9th May 2013?

Following a High Court decision, all Employment Regulation Orders ceased to have statutory effect from 7 July 2011. Following a decision of the Supreme Court, all registered employment agreements ceased to have statutory effect from 9 May 2013.

I know that's why we need a JLC agreement in 2016. Once their is a New Government in place we can fight for better Pay & Conditions for those working in the Industry.
Hearing too many stories of workers only getting the minimum wage Its a race to
the bottom

That's why we are stronger together been part of a Trade Union Batu Siptu been the main ones I can think of.
