Peugeot 406 battery charging fault

Hi guys, any help greatly appreciated.

Having an issue with my car battery when driving at high speeds.

On the motorway, as I creep up to 120 the battery charge fault warning light will turn on in the dash. If I continue driving for another bit, the abs warning light and airbag warning light will come on aswell..... And I assume if I continue that the power will go.

However, if I bring my speed down to 100, then the battery warning light will turn off and I can continue driving. But As soon as I creep back up to 120, the battery charge fault comes back on.

The car battery connections seem clean. Was wondering if a change of battery might do the job or whether it might be an alternator problem.

    Any insights appreciated.

Does the car have any trouble turning over first thing? ie is the battery holding a charge overnight for example? First thing is get your battery tested to rule that out. Any motor factors should be able to test it for you.

Normally starts no problem but the couple of child mornings recently means I have to give it a couple of goes. Bought one of those lidl battery testers last week and from what I understand the battery was fine. Will talk to a motor factors though, thanks for the tip.
