Very low pressure in boiler

I've just moved into my new home and I'm totally clueless as to how the boiler system works, so forgive me for my ignorance if this is a silly question. I have an Immergas Zeus Maior boiler and the pressure indicator is at 0.25 bars and the manual says it should be around 1 - 1.2 bars. I'm worried the boiler will soon shut down. Is there a way that I will be able to re-pressurise the system myself or will I have to all out a professional?

    Many thanks for your advice...

Is there a some sort of black knob near the gage

Presumably the op has resolved his problem so apologies for using this old post. I have exactly the same issue in a new apartment my daughter is moving into. The boiler is an immergas zeus mini. I am able to re pressurise to 1.2 on the boiler using the black knob but when i close the black knob on the pressure guage the pressure drops back down again. I will try posting photos but in case i cant any help appreciated in tge meantime. Cheers

I had the same issue before, there was a slow leak on one of the radiators causing it

Dont think it is rads. The pressure drops too quickly on the boiler. I have checked tho just in case thanks.

I have added photos of setup including a couple of the pressure guage. I can hear water flowing when i turn the black knob but as i say pressure drops when i close it. As well as the black button on top of the guage i am also able to twist the brass screw under.

I have no water at the taps hot or cold.

The black pump was hot to the touch earlier but is cool now. I have removed the euro sized disc and a small flow of water can be seen.

Timer is on continuious. Gas does light and fire up but eventually red light comes on.

On the last start up process the presuure guage temporarily rises to 2.5 then drops back and the gas didnt fire.

The appears to be a fully pressurised system - is there anything else i should be checking for?

At the back of the boiler on the outside there should be a small 1/2in copper pipe see if water is running out that when you repressure
If so its a safety valve problem

Funny you should say that - I did 'operate' the pressure relief valve earlier (the name i know it by anyway) - there was definitely water running from it. Before the last repessurise and restart I turned the PRV fully and it made a definite click. On the last retry the boiler didnt fire but neither did the pressure drop as far as it did earlier.

Should I have taps on or off and should i open a rad whilst represuurising?

Still trying to understand fully how the pressure guage with the black knob works - Is it a pressure limiter as well as a filler tap?

Thanks for the help so far - seems like we are on the same page :)

OK I got the heating going - the pump needed a manual turn with s screwdriver to get it going.

Now just the water to sort out. We have cold water at the kitchen sink, mains pressure so I am assuming this is coming direct from outside. The toilets in the 2 bathrooms also are flushing, so again I am assuming mains fed.

We do not have hot or cold in either bathroom sink, showers, nor hot at the kitchen sink - all these are just dribbling. I am thinking issue is either air locks or an issue with pressure in the water side of the boiler. Every tap in the apartment is a mixer type.

Thanks for the help so far.

Issue is in one of the apartments above Manor Mills - if anyone can recommend a plumber/heating engineer in Maynooth area who might be able to help, and is preferably familiar with the set up please PM me.

Also got the hot water going - pressure pump needed resetting about 20/30 times to get the pressure up. I had tried that yesterday but not enough times. Thanks for all the helps.

Sorry to bump an old thread.

I'm also living above manor mills. I bled my living room radiator today as it was only heating the bottom and now my boiler pressure has dropped to 0. No problems with water pressure or temperature yet though.

I'm trying to boost the pressure but can't figure out how. There is a black knob under my boiler but it's very hard to turn and I don't want to force it.

I went against my better judgement and twisted the black knob more than I thought necessary and the pressure began to rise. So all sorted. Thanks to the above poster.
