Just wondering if I bought a house directly from someone, not on the market and just agreed a price between ourselves how would the sale likely proceed.
Would it just be appoint solicitors and proceed as normal?

Pretty well. The deposit is handled by the solicitors, something the EA would do if there one involved.

Make a verbal agreement with the vendor, get the name and address of his or her solicitor, and instruct your solicitor to take it from there.

Thanks for that. Now hopefully it will all work out.
