    The former is a reprint of a 1930's book so it will be missing about 90 years of history. The latter doesn't look like it's a history book per se so it may be lacking.

    Have a look at Martin Bairstow's Railways In Ireland series. There's five of them and counting; they are easy to read and packed with loads of interesting and relevant photos.
