Windscreen spray hitting low on screen

Spray only hitting a few inches up the windscreen.

Both nozzles doing the same thing now, but the nozzle nearest the pump was still spraying okay for weeks before reducing spray height.

The nozzle direction can't be adjusted.

I've taken off one nozzle and put in vinegar.

However I noticed something strange about the nozzle product design...

There is a "downpipe" on the nozzle where most of the water comes out instead of going out the front "hole". It's the same with the second nozzle.

Why would it be designed that way?

Do you use screenwash? I find if you leave it in the tank too long it tends to sludge up around the filter on the pump.

    Especially this sh1te

All you have to do is use a small sharp needle and stick it in the front-top of the nozzle and pull it up slightly and try the spray. keep doing this till it is correct. It's a simple and easy way to fix this basic problem.

OP claims nozzle direction can't be adjusted.

Try putting in vinegar as you did. Also you can use vinegar in the reservoir to clear up any gunk/mold.

Yeah as above, a sewing needle into the sprayer and adjust until you're happy.

All nozzles can be adjusted from the point-head of the nozzle, where the water comes out. You stick the pin in and move the pin upwards or downwards on the location of the window you want it to spray on. I had to do this many times throughout the years for folk. It's easy to do and fixes the nozzle in the right place.

Using vinegar or any other solution will not align the nozzle. Manual hands on with a pin will.

Nope, of the 8 years of ownership I've possibly put in a thimble full of washing up liquid.
All nozzles can be adjusted from the point-head of the nozzle, where the water comes out.

I know the nozzles you mean. They are a swivel ball with a small hole that can be manipulated with a pin.

The nozzle on this is like iron man's visor, it's oblong with no swivel head.

I'll post pics up later (can't understand why there's a release "pipe" that lets most of the water out when sprayed :( ) try and keep the anticipation in check :pac:

I've an NCT due in 2 week's time. Think this is a fail.

Same type of nozzle on BMWs, Not adjustable, same problem. The problem with the BMWs is not the nozzle, its the tank and pump filter gets gunked up. I used a denture cleaning tablet to fix the problem. Empty the tank, break up a tablet and put it down the filler followed by half a litre of water. Left overnight, poured in another litre of water and operated the pump. Problem solved.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Problem "fixed". It was indeed a problem with the down pipe. I imagine this is some sort of release/safety value to protect the motor if the nozzle gets blocked.

It must have been blocked by something originally. They are now both blocked by the end of a match stick (which is still usable to light fires :) )

Might need to think of something better before the NCT. Saved 60 Euro going by what I've seen for 2 nozzle replacements :)
