Does anyone know the process of obtaining a Chinese visa in Cork or in Ireland? I'm thinking of heading to China this summer for 2-3 weeks for a tour but I'm not quite sure how the process works.

Do you need to go to Dublin for the visa?

Google is often your best friend for situations like these.

    Very helpful

OP, there's no postal application for a Chinese visa. You must apply at the Chinese consulate on Merrion Road in Dublin and collect from there. You can send someone else on your behalf, both to apply and collect. It takes 4 working days (there's also an express option) and payment is by Postal Order or bank draft issued by AIB or Bof I. You pay on collection. Finally, they're open from 9-12, Monday to Thursday, excluding Irish and Chinese holidays.

    Here's a link.

It's not exactly a personal help deal here either. Google is a great resource, its not exactly hard to find your own information for once.

I'll hazard a guess that the OP has heard of google. And google is no use for information on Chinese visas, the information is all over the place. People come on here to get help from others who've been through the process.

Google directs you to information on the issue.

People coming here to get information from people who have done it is great and fine, but FFS you have to to some of the work yourself.

    Well done. You win.

OP, if you need any further details you can PM me. We seem to be wasting some people's time.

Sorry that I have an opinion different to you anyway. I'm surprised at your sourness.
