Lived in the UK for just over 7 years, paying tax and National Insurance the whole period. There's supposedly an entitlement to some pension at retirement (if such a thing exists by then) but how do you actually get it?

Are you in receipt of an Irish SW pension right now?

I'm not getting any pension, I'm in my 30's. I'm just thinking further down the line as to how or what it would be paid into, or if I am even entitled for such a short period of employment in the UK.

Cheers. The 10 years means I needn't worry about it as I won't get anything.

Not necessarilly. The contributions you paid in the UK will count towards your Irish Contributory Pension. Contributions paid in any other E.U. state can be reckoned for Contributory Pension elegibility in the home state. Don't you just love the E.U.:) By the time you reach pension age the qualifying age will be 68. So you may be able to retire early. Check out www.welfare.ie. Look at the pension section. You should also get a confirmed record of your contributions in UK now, before you forget about it.
