Is there a market for this?

I'm currently doing my PhD in a science subject and I'm looking at my options for when I'm finished, law was the second area of study I was interested in when I was deciding what degree to do at undergrad level. At the moment I feel I want to move away from the lab bench.

I was looking at the Masters in Common Law in UCD, any good?

Even if I wasn't to end up in patent law, does anyone have any experience of people with a scientific background moving towards law?

    Thanks

I'm not sure if there would be much overlap between patent law and common law.

UCC does an excellent LLM program in Computer and Intellectual Property rights (IPR) law. You'd like be expected to have some grasp of the basics of law, but overall it sets one up to understand IPR if one wishes to move to work in that area (patent law attorney etc.).
