Hi guys, I'm so sorry if this is in the wrong place! I've searched for an answer but I can't find one/don't understand!

I passed my driving test yesterday (yay) but I'm not sure when I put my N Plates up. Do I do it now? Or when I get my licence in the post, and leave my L plates up until then?

    Thanks in advance :)

Once you've applied for your full licence.

You're still officialy under learner restrictions until you have the physical licence in hand.

Once you have the receipt for your application you can put your plates up

Yeah that's what everyone does in practice, but legally you're still a learner until you're issued your licence.

The examiners I had for my bike and car tests said otherwise. You don't magically get a full licence when you pass the test. Until your application is processed, you're still on recorded as a learner on the system. NDLS are cluesless half the time.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your help! I applied for my license on Thursday and I have the receipt so I might just put up the N plates and hope for the best. Thanks again :)
