    Hi,

Changing it up a bit this year instead of bringing the car to France we are looking to go to Austria (around Innsbruck) and maybe southern Germany. I am supposing that we will fly into Munich and hire a car.

SO, any recommendations we like the whole caravan park idea (7 years in France will testify to this:o) are the Austrians into this, done some research and not getting too much that takes my fancy atm France had so many options and you are spoilt.

6.1kWp south facing, South of Cork City

unfortunately (or fortunately) the German and Austrian alpine region has 2 distinct seasons, summer and winter, with 30odd degrees at summer and then minus temperatures and a couple of feet of snow at winter.
This means that your chalet type of park doesnt exist, as then youre only focusing on the summer and giving yourself no chance of making a packet in the winter.
What there is though is plenty of self catering options, theres always very very decent municipal outdoor pools (sometimes with free admission with the local tourist card you get with the accomodation), and with a car you can convienently explore the beautiful countryside without worrying about timetables of busses and whatnot.
Costs for self catering apartments can be very reasonable, just see here for an idea of a german alpine area which is on the road to Innsbruck.
