Apologies if there's a thread, I haven't seen one and search function is broken, never heard of it before but cant wait to see this, out Feb 12th:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2580382/
In a time of starvation, a survivalist lives off a small plot of land hidden deep in forest. When two women seeking food and shelter discover his farm, he finds his existence threatened.

No sign of it in the IMC though, I assume someone in Dublin will have it...

Anyone else see this ? Really not sure where I stand on it to be honest. I know it was low budget and sparse in terms of dialogue before seeing it. Neither of those those things really went against it , it was well shot and acted I thought but there were a few times I was almost shouting at the screen for some one to say something , the dialogue could have too sparse in the end.

There were a couple of 'disturbing' scenes, one in particular I thought totally unnecessary and graphic. It had context within in the film and I get it was going for 'real' but at the same time this particular scene wasn't needed I felt.

The story wasn't awful by any means but it didn't grip me like I thought it might and relied on almost 'cliched' post-apocalypse elements.

Still trying to digest it really and still thinking about it so that says something positive about it I guess .

Just finished watching this and thought it was absolutely phenomenal! Didn't know anything about it other than the genre and that it was Irish so didn't have any idea of what to expect going into it, definitely can see it being one of my favourites this year.

Some of the shots were stunning, and not what you'd usually see in this type of film, the scene in the high grass is the standout, some beautiful cinematography.

The only complaint I'd have is maybe it could have cut 5 minutes off the running time as it did start to drag a small bit in places, but that's a very small complaint as its not like it's a long watch! Very interested in seeing what the writer/director does next, serious talent.

Was definitely a hard watch that scene, but totally vital to the whole thing I thought. Showed the lengths that were needed to go to in the situation and didn't take the easy way out the way it was filmed. And in the context of the ending I felt it was even more powerful in hindsight!

Yeah it's something I've come around to thinking since seeing the film, and thinking about it over the last few days. I totally agree regarding run time.

The scene in the grass was all kinds of tense especially when he checked his pockets and combined with that series of shots.

The other thing I'm still thinking over is the very end , the last line
she's asked what she's calling the child and there is a pause, if it's a boy .... then credits
unsure if that was the right way to end it as you expect it maybe? It's a small personal gripe really, I don't know if I'd have preferred her to have said nothing or not to have been asked or to have answered :D

Watched it last night. It was decent but not sure if it lived up to all the hype.

And is it possible to abort a foetus by sticking a hot rod up your ****?

    Orange pilled.

    Anything 'Irish' in it?

This was very bare and grim yet convincing. Difficult to watch and unflinching in its conclusion.

Set in Ireland, Irish cast, and all Irish crew. Mark Kermode had a very positive review, it's only in select cinemas but is available on demand.

Watched this a couple of night ago. One of the films of the year so far for me. Brutal but unflinching and loved the lack of trust and paranoia throughout. I'm with one of the earlier posters, not sure about the final scene but would have been difficult to end any other way without feeling like a tacked on hollywood ending
