Getting Rid of Scrap Car

I have a 2008 car that was a spare car and it was running recently until one thing led to another and it's a brick now. Needs a new engine. Car's worth maybe 3,500 if all things were working but a new engine and clutch and labour and all the bits and bobs associated with that will be in the 2k region I'm hearing.

I don't think I'm going to risk getting a new/re-conditioned engine and paying out that amount and hoping it runs well enough for a while to sell it. How much could I get for it in the state that it's in and who would my potential buyers be? It's a Nissan Tiida in good condition (other than it not running obviously!).

    1.5 DCI. It's a Renault K9K 764/832 engine.

2k will only get a second hand engine with installation. To also fit a clutch plus new timing belt kit and service kit, budget 3k.

Stick it on donedeal in the damaged /repairable section for 2k and see what happens

Thanks for the advice. Think I'm going to try and source an engine and parts as I know a mechanic who will charge next to nothing for labour as he's a family friend.
