Hi ,my 07 trafic cut out earlier on the motorway, a red warning light (major fuel system fault / overheating warning ) came on and engine cut out ...
I gave it a few mins (checked it wasnt out of fuel ,oil or water),engine started as normal .. ran for a min then died again . I came back to the van a couple of hours later it started and drove a few hundred meters to get off the motorway and it died again .... seems longer you leave it the longer it runs... any ideas what it could be ..

From that much info it could be multiple issues.

Best advice is take it to a garage tbh

Sorry didn't realise you were there with it! Once you've checked the obvious like levels I don't think there is anything you could do at the road side.

    What warning light came on?

Red engine warning light ( manual says " serious injection fault warning light/ cooling system fault) . Recovery guy reckons it could be just the fuel filter- after crap fuel...

Did you find out what's wrong with your van since?

Thanks galway, no luck yet . Mechanic first reckoned it was just the fuel filter clogged- changed it and it wouldnt start... reckons it could be fuel pump but I dont reckon he's looked much -
I 'll keep ye informed ( pulling my hair out here without my van )

Bad news it is, mechanic says fuel pump, and injectors, also the starters given up the ghost.... death knell really.
    Surprised all injectors gone though..
