Vodafone SIM in HKC Quantum 70

I got a new HKC Qantum 70 recently, with a new Vodafone SIM, but it is not liking the SIM. I have €20 credit on the sim. I tried the vodafone sim from my fone and that worked fine. It recognises the fact that the sim is installed, but not getting a connection. I put the sim in a fone and it is working fine. I got a replacement sim (same 087 number) and tried that, but no joy. Any ideas? Is there something I should do with the sim before it works in the alarm? I have registered it online. Any help would be appreciated before I go off and get another one.

Bottom line, the sim work in a fone and the alarm works with a sim, just not this sim.

When you says it's not working what exactly do you mean?

The quantum has a fairly decent GSM set up procedure so it should tell you what the problem is.

It does not display an error message, it just keeps saying "Connecting", but it never does. When I put my phone sim in it displays "Connecting" and within seconds it displays "VodafoneIE".

As it fails on 2 new physical SIMS (original SIM plus replacement), I am wondering if there is a change in the SIMS that the GSM READER IS NOT PICKING UP ON. If this is the case, I should not be the only one falling foul of this problem.

Have you tried a different network? Might not be getting enough signal.

Signal is not the problem. When I put my phone sim into the alarm, it registers 100% signal. Never had an issue with vodafone signal in my house.

Have you taken off the sim code request first, before installing it in the GSM?

I dont know what this means, so I am sure I did not do it. How do I do this?

If you put the sim into a phone does it ask for the sim code? If it does then turn off the sim request in the phones menu.

The new 3way Vodafone sims dont work in the GSM bring the back and ask for a dual sim and it will work. new verion of gsm is needed for thevlnew vodafone Sim cards.
