Hi when I was putting towels away the baby noticed the shiny red valve on the pipe coming from the tank and decided to grab it and it turn it.
I'm just wondering should this valve be fully open as it has a lot of play either way as i have no idea how it was set before it was touched thanks

If it nearly on the ground and coming out of hot water cylinder then it sounds like it is the valve to balance the hot water coming out of the hot water cylinder when the central heating is on.

I am not a plumber. But I think it has to be a bit less than half open.
