    Hi everyone,
we want to do an extension in our house with planning permission. So just looking for advice.
Is it advisable to use different builder, like one find some one who does foundation , then some for block building and so on. Does it get cheaper this way or just give the whole lot to some one.

Also Suppose if we went with one builder and money is tight can we get just basic structure up and do different bits inside later in stages?

    Thanks

Depends on the nature of the build. Will there be major structural elements that need to be designed and erected in accordance with the Building Regulations.

    Who will design these foundations?
Who will design the roof structure?

Do you need it certified at the end?
By law, only a registered electrician can alter the electrics and only a registered gas installer can adjust your heating/gas system.

It all depends on what you can do yourself and what you need done by the professionals as such.

Is the bank financing the build?
    Do they require certification?

What does the guy doing your planning recommend?
