Never seen this brand before, any feedback? Seems to be Chinese.

4K is pointless at 40". Definitely not a 40% reduction by the way. Get a decent 1080p Samsung set instead for around the same price.

I have a 32 inch Hisense TV for the past 7 years and never had any trouble with it. Its been lugged around to a few different properties in that time.

I have that TV, paid €400 about 6mths ago on Amazon.de so its not a huge bargain but a good price. Really happy with it, no trouble with it at all.

I recently bought the 50" model for £400, very nice TV, razor sharp picture and a good selection of apps - Netflix, Youtube, BBC iplayer etc.

Like a previous poster mentioned 40" is too small to get the true benefit of 4K

Sorry to hijack the thread,is Amazon.de the best place to buy the Hisense TVs? Parcel motel no good for delivery on these...whats the best way to go with delivery? Do you get hit with customs charges or is the whole intra-Euro free movement law adhered to? Does it really make a saving over an LG/Samsung Harvey Norman job?

First of all crunch the numbers on the particular set you're interested in, checking Amazon UK, Tesco direct, Amazon DE/FR/ES & B&M retailers in Ireland. Customs charges won't factor, as it's an intra-EU transaction as you say. If the pricing is close enough, many folks naturally go with the convenience of picking it up from a local store, though the likes of Harvey Norman & DID always strike me as habitually pricey - Argos may be worth a look too..

I've bought 3 TV's from Amazon UK, primarily due to price & the ease of dealing with a return if that proved necessary (which it never has). I've a feeling some have had to use parcel motel when ordering TV's from Amazon.de in the past (in which case be sure to bump up your insurance cover in advance).

No Customs as its sold by a EU company. If you order anything from Amazon.de, there is usually a carriage charge.
