First time buyer question

    Hi folks,

I bought a small cottage to renovate in 2001 when I was a young 21 year old carpenter, was 100K at the time. I flipped it in summer 2006 and cleared the mortgage.

I have been renting since, 10 years. Now 36, living with long term gf (10+ years) 2 kids with another on the way. My partner and I would be interested in buying in the next year or two.

We are not married, both in full time safe jobs, Im just wondering, for our application, we're only in thinking phases now, but together would we be considered as first time buyers, or because I bought as a young lad in the boom times, that wont work to her (our) advantage now..? any ideas.

Or would we be only considered as second time buyers, even though I havent owned a house in 10 years?

    Thanks

No you wouldn't be. You owned a house previously. Pretty simple
