Can anyone give me some advice. I was thinking of putting up a 4 bay dry shed part for machinery and a couple of bays for calving/ creep area. My question is would it be better to go for grant spec shed and get the grant if still available or would it be better to go with no grant. Also I believe that planning permission would be needed if grant spec. Also can anyone tell me if you can claim VAT. Any help greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

No grant available for machinery shed afaik. There is one for a "loose house" for housing cattle which might suit your job. I'd stick it up without the grant as would be over spec'd for just a machinery shed

All grant sheds also now require planning or declaration of exemption from planning authority.
The agricultural exemptions are being seriously eroded due to the increase is conservation areas etc.
