I had a 1.8 diesel and it was at 140k kms or 7 years afaik. Got it done in a garage for €300.

200k km off the top of my head its no big deal compared to the 1.8.

As above, 200,000km or 10 years, whichever comes first. They have no problem lasting the interval and don't cost a fortune to change.

The 1.6 and 1.8 are a whole different ballgame...

What's the story with the belt on 1.6 diesel as fitted to c max around 2009?
A ford dealer yesterday issued a car specific print out stating 200 km or 10 years for a friend of mine that was buying a car of them.
Is that correct? You say that the 1.6 is a whole different ballgame.

The 2009 should be fine at the 200,000km interval but the newer 8v 1.6 engine as fitted to the S-Max has been breaking belts early and has had the replacement interval reduced to 140,000km.
