Hi all, after living in apartments for years and having storage heaters I now live in a house and I am having an issue with one of the radiators. It is in the living room and it is cold at the bottom but hot at the top. It's not as hot as any of the other rads in the house. I have tried bleeding it but it is still the same. Would anyone have any advice here please? Apologies if it is a basic question. Many thanks

Are any of the other rads cold at the bottom?

No they all seem pretty even in distribution.

Turn the the valve on the cooler pipe of each rad to 1/4 open. Turn your balance valve on your cylinder to 1 turn open

    Thanks for the advice.
Just for my clarification the cooler pipe on the rad is the one on the right or left as I'm facing it?
I think the one on the left is for the water? And the right is to adjust the temperature? Am i right in saying this?
Also the turns you recommend should be anti-clockwise?

No feel both pipes after the heating has been on for a while. One pipe will be slightly less hot than the other. Turn this side off the reopen 1/4 turn

Sorry for being a total numbnuts here. Could you explain "Turn this side off the reopen 1/4 turn" a bit more. I don't understand.
Should I do it on all rads and should the turn be anti-clockwise or clockwise?

Turn off clockwise. Turn on anti clockwise. Do this to the hottest rads.
