So I'm putting in different quotes into axa's quoting system online put in the same exact car only difference being the registration and I'm getting different quotes on each different reg. All the cars are the 2002 polo 55hp 5 door model and prices vary from €1700 to €2000 depending on the reg. Anyone have a clue why the quotes are different ?:confused:

Tipperary reg Polo is UK import. Still weird though.

Insurance companies in some cases load uk/jap imports and also some won't even insure a UK import.

I'd love to think it was something sensible like one model has ABS and extra airbags... but we all know that counts for very little in their ratings, or early ford focuses etc that didn't have ABS as standard would have been seen as more risky than cars with ABS and 4 airbags as standard even if the other car had a whopping extra mug full of cubic capacity.

Unless you put a home address into the quote, ie. where the car is normally kept/used, the different counties can have a bearing on the quote. It's dearer to insure a car in some counties. When I moved from Dublin to Kerry, my renewal came in at almost half the original Dublin cost.
