Hello, needing a bit of help.
My friends and I are travelling to Las Vegas in March and we are hoping to get a round of golf in during our time there. We would need club rentals and price isn't really too much of a concern. If anyone has any course recommendation and any other information that might be of use that'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help

Most course in the area are set-up for the tourist market and rent out clubs, shoes etc. They usually offer a very decent level of gear and its all very reasonable.

I can't remember which club I played when out in Vegas but they are all very decent and most of them are pay and play courses (public which is more common in the states).

The only thing you need to be careful about is the weather, get out first thing in the morning as the heat will kill you in the middle of the day, but March should be ok but bring plenty of water.

Most of the hotels run deals with local course, so check with them on arrival. I doubt you'll need to pre-book.

Im heading out in February and going to bring my clubs. If I dont bring my clubs, I probably wont play.....great deals on golfnow the day you are playing, so if you are up early take a look at that and just head out.

not sure where I will play yet, just something to get away from the strip for an afternoon (there for 4 days).

I was there last February and if you get the chance u should play Reflection Bay. It's about a thirty minute drive from the strip but it's worth it. There wasn't a blade of grass out of place there and the greens were the quickest I've ever putted on !! The Wolf course in the Pauite Resort is another great course. Surrounded by desert it's a great test aswell. Again very well manicured with tricky greens and a few tough tee shots The 16th is a par 3 with an island green similar to sawgrass. Its about thirty minutes drive from the strip too. Either of the two would be a great choice.

You won't be short of choice. Here's a decet breakdown by cost tier

Ask at the concierge desk when you get there and the hotel might have a deal in place with some great courses

Thanks for the reply lads. I've emailed the hotel to see if there's any packages. I've also seen a few sites that do club rentals separately, this may be an option as golfnow offer tee times in some of the best courses over there for up to a month in advance. Will keep an eye on it, we were looking at Bali Hai, 15 mins from our hotel and coming in at $269 all in directly with them. If we can get a package around the $200 mark we'd go for it I reckon. It ain't cheap but it looks amazing

Ive played boulder creek, the legacy, painted desert, and angel park. The legacy is a fun course, while boulder creek is my favourite of the above. Greens were around a 12 on the stimp at the start of November which was a crazy change from winter greens here. Along with the heat and dry air vegas is at altitude, wait until you see how far the ball travels over there! You're in for a great time. Enjoy!!

Play Cascata, it is absolutely stunning, it's owns by Ceasers and there is unlimited budget spend so is immaculate.

Play Rio Secco. Great course, Butch Harmen has his practice facilities there.

Play Pauite, three courses, Wolf is the best but play early and bring a heavy pullover, it is up in the desert mountains and can get quite cold in the Spring. Also it gets dark surprisingly quick there.

Primm Valley has a couple of nice courses.

Do not play TPC Las Vegas unless you are low handicappers. It's nicknamed the "canyon" course because you literally have to play along/across canyons on many holes, it is very difficult and not much fun.

There is a great practice facility/.par 3 course at a the top of the Strip toward McCarron airport, watch out for it on the right hand side as you are going from airport to hotel. It used to be run by Callaway but I think Taylor Made have it now.

Bring lots and lots of $1 bills, everyone has their hand out in Vegas. When you play golf you will have to tip the car valet at the hotel, the guy who takes the club's out of your car at the course, the waitress/barman in the club, the starter, the caddy, the barman afterward, the guy who has cleaned your clubs while you were in the clubhouse and the car valet back at the hotel again, trust me, you don't can to have a pocket full of $5s or $10s.

played several courses over the last few years & would recommend bali hai, just off the strip as one of the best.

    book through: http://www.waltersgolf.com/

royal links is just ok & a bit of a taxi ride, so wouldn't bother with that.

also badlands is awful unless very low handicappers as everything runs off the fairway into rocks.

played TPC las vegas where tiger won his first tournament & that was a great course but bit short from the normal tees.
