New Build - Lighting

Hi all, We are currently in the planning process for the second time, hoping for a positive decision this time around! Anyway, thinking about things like lighting for a new build. This tbh is incredibly important to me to get right, but then again, our home will be fairly 'normal' so expecting our lighting solution…

Hi all,

We are currently in the planning process for the second time, hoping for a positive decision this time around!

Anyway, thinking about things like lighting for a new build. This tbh is incredibly important to me to get right, but then again, our home will be fairly 'normal' so expecting our lighting solution shouldn't be too obscure. Having said that, I do really like the idea of zoned lighting and a centrally managed or 'smart' lighting system.

Would it be over kill to consider a lighting designer? I would imagine this would cost us hundreds at the very least. Does any one have experience in designing their own lighting systems or are there any good resources online which could help us with this task?
