Him and Lemmy within two weeks :(

The world will never see the likes of them again

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    From Reeves Gabrels:

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Absolutely gobsmacked by this. The most influential rock star for me, by a country mile. Remember first seeing that Space Oddity video in the early 70s when space travel was all the rage. Then he changed into Ziggy. Never saw him in that era, but will consider myself incredibly fortunate to have seen him on the Serious Moonlight Tour around 1982, then his performance at Live Aid. Maybe not at his best in his Glass Spider Tour, but still better than pretty much everyone else

The World has lost one of it's all time great musicians

    RIP

What do you mean by this, Paul McCartney should've died instead? C'mon, not cool.

A real shame. Particularly note worthy having only released the new album for his birthday last week. I definitely didn't see it coming.

Back in 1983 I was living in Leeds. Hitched down to Milton Keynes as Bowie was playing Milton Keynes Bowl on the Serious Moonlight Tour. Then ended up trying to get some sleep in a field on the outskirts of the city. The following day he put on a memorable performance. I managed to smuggle a camera in, and below are a couple of shots

Then a couple of years later, Live Aid:

Memories that will last my lifetime.

I'm seriously thankful I got to see him live when he played the Point back in 2003. Seriously amazing show.

This is an amazing tribute to David Bowie. The person that wrote it is Dara O Kearney. A professional poker player and former ultra running champion.

If you're a Bowie fan, or not, just read it.

Which album is best to start with?

Aladdin Sane , Hunky Dory or The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from mars are 3 essential anyway there is more but start there.

    An absolute genius RIP

Which album is best to start with?

For me it has to be Station to Station and Scary Monsters (and Blackstar!).
