Public Service Increments / Probation

    Hi Guys

I have a question in relation to Public Service Increments / Probation that I can't seem to find the answer to online.

I work in the public service since August 24th 2015 as an Intelluctual Disability Carer in the HSE. Therefore my next increment is due on the 24th August 2016 and also my probation is up as I will have my 12 months complete.

However I have worked in the Public Service before. In 2012 I worked in the Revenue Commissioners as a Temporary Clerical Officer for 10 weeks.

Even though the job is not exacally the same, should this 10 weeks of public service be counted. Should I get my increment 10 weeks before the 24th of August and should my probation be up 10 weeks earlier too?

Any ideas / information on this would be great.

Your previous service will count towards your pension contributions, not your incremental credit

You'll have to apply for incremental credit with your local HR. Revenue is civil service though and not public service. I think service between civil and public service is not given like for like treatment. A girl I worked with left the public service (she had 5 years service) and went to college. She got a 1 year contract in my office (a civil service office) and applied for incremental credit. Her 5 years in the public service did not translate into 5 years service in the civil service though. It could be similar for civil servants going into the public service.

Hi just wondering does anyone know is it every year that a nurses salary goes up as per the hse pay scale or is it a different certain length of time?
