    Hi All,

Have a separate thread about my leaking back boiler :-( Advice is to replace it....So looking at our options, and have come across "Hot Air Distribution systems" e.g. here .
Does anyone have any experience of these?
Do I need a special stove?
Could I still get hw using one?
    Is additional construction required?

    thanks in advance,

    SparrowHawk

Forget about it, it's a rubbish system used in the US where there's no interest in efficiency.
The ducts take up loads of room and have huge surface area for heat loss.
Air is a rubbish heat transfer medium compared with water.

    +1

Some houses had these fitted in the 60s if I remember correctly. While they worked ok, they cost a fortune to run and were no good during the really cold weather. Not suitable for our climate.

As said better to stick with a Water based system either new Boiler stove or System Boiler.
