Where to go for Toyota repairs [Dublin]?

    Hi,

I'm having a problem with my Toyota Corrolla, that my mechanic isn't able to figure out. So I'd like to bring the car to a Toyota dealer/repair place and was wondering if people had any recommendations of where to go (or where not to go)? I don't want to be ripped off!

    Thanks!

What is the nature of the problem?

When I park the car, it won't start again unless jump started. A new battery was put in and the problem is still happening.

The power steering also seems to be involved somehow as sometimes when I turn the steering wheel the whole way in one direction, the engine cuts out and won't start again.

    Thanks!

Id just find a more competent mechanic. A dealer could potentially just throw a heap of new parts at it.

Does your car have electric power steering, what year is it?

Personally - I've used Toyota dealers for everything. They're reasonable on servicing. Crash repair was paid by insurance and in 7 years the only part they've sold me was a timing chain.

That's in Mayo and others may have a different story.

It's 2006 so I presume it has electric power steering?

    It would have.
    (I'm not a mechanic)
You often find in Toyotas with eps and a dying or low battery that power steering will kill the engine due to the load on the electronics I think that's just a symptom of your problem rather than your problem.

You need someone to check that the alternator is working correctly IMO. But I'd be very surprised if the mechanic hasn't already done this

I don't think you need a Toyota dealer for this tbh, just a good mechanic.
