Does anyone know where or how u can apply to work in sorting and organising the leaving cert and junior cert papers ? I look on the examinations.is website but they never have any thing advertised for exam centre workers not supervisor work because you have to be a teacher to do that.... would really appreciate any answers.

I love how people only mention job competitions after the closing date has passed, this thread was about asking people for help about getting work in Athlone exam centre good thing I just kept checking the website myself.

I only came across this post while searching for info on this competition, since you were checking the examinations website I thought you may have applied as jobs were advertised on the website as well as in the paper, I didn't want to start a new thread on same topic.

I applied for the tco competition as well, didn't receive an email either about interviews.

Got the rejection email anyway, 2nd time now being rejected by them, I know they are giving preference to unemployed but last time I was unemployed and ticked a lot of the criteria and didn't get called for interview and this year I am employed and have a lot more clerical work express and didn't get called for interview either, the only criteria I don't have is that I never worked for the state examination commission.... They're selection process is a joke.

    Thanks, Jules,

ya I had that last year, was unemployed and had previous clerical experience as I worked in the DSP aswell and didnt get called for interview they keep saying because I havent worked in the state examinations commision that preference is given to people who have previously worked there. which is completely unfair, anyway best of luck in the interview.

If you had been offered the job, would it still have been a joke...?

Maybe you should read my posts and see why I cant understand their selection process, and its not about getting the job, I wouln't presume Id get the job why would I, I just want to be given a fair shot at getting called for interview, I want to know what's the reason for not getting selected for the interview stage,...... the only thing I dont have is I never previously worked for the state examinations commission.

Thanks Jules, that's only fair so if everyone was unemployed, would just love to know what the job would involve, did they tell he at all in the interview what work Ye would be doing there, I wonder would they be organizing and sorting the exam papers?
