Yippee a redneck channel, 24 hours of country music y'all :D:eek:

"We are pleased to announce the launch of Europe's
first 24 hour Country music channel , which starts broadcasting Sunday 24th January 2016 .
We would like to thank all who have tuned into our shows over the past 5 years which has made this moment possible . The support we have had from Viewers, Artists, Agencies and Venues over this time has been truly fantastic .
Please spread the word that Country is back on its own dedicated channel Sky 261 & Freesat 402 .
With your help we intend to make this into the most watched Country channel across Europe
    Thanks Again . Phil Mack"

Hate to disappoint you, but I'd say it'll be more Susan McCann & philomena begley than cash & Nelson et al. He has shows on 'Irish Tv' and it's a lot of this stuff..... not to my taste but sure there you are.

It is not the 1st as they say. Back in the analogue days CMT was broadcast 24/7 in Europe. Didn't last long though.

CMT seemed to just show the same 30 videos over and over in a playlist, wasnt much on it to keep the audience watching.

Yep, I seem to remember CMT (Country Music Television) was available to us on Cork Multi-Channel TV analogue cable TV service in Cork City at one stage back in the '90s. I think it may have replaced either Music Box (Thorne EMI) channel or original version of MTV Europe channel for a while and there was a lot of viewers who had become accustomed to Pop/Rock Music very unhappy with Country Music as a replacement!

Some channels just do not seem to attract long term stable viewing and growing audiences. Classic fm TV was a popular with Classical Music/Film Themes around 2003 but was probably gone by 2004/2005 period although it's radio station equivalent has managed to remain on air for many years before during and after the demise of Classic fm TV!
