I recently purchased a wing mirror cover for my wife's navy 2008 qashqai. It comes primed for painting but Im not certain how to get the right paint colour.

Does anyone have any pointers for me?

Look for the paint code, usually on the drivers door somewhere or under the bonnet on a metal plate. Get that code and get some paint mixed up. Halfords is usually a good bet. If it's a common colour they may have it pre mixed in an aerosol can. If not, they can still mix it up in any form you wish, as long as you have the code. If it's a DIY effort, then I'd suggest aerosol, it's the easiest to work with and achieve a smooth finish. About 3 coats should be enough. Then about 3 coats of a clear lacquer to seal that paint and give the glossy finish.

You could get a smart repair company to spray it for you.

I go to Vinny Byrnes on Kylemore Rd in Dublin. They check the car colour and make up an aerosol to suit it.
