    Hi folks,

Boring thread I know but I couldn't find a related active thread.

Basically I am moving to Cork soon and will be working in Fermoy. However, I am looking to live somewhere as close as possible to Cork City, but with a commute of less than 30 mins to Fermoy (20-25 preferably). So essentially a nice suburb in North East Cork?

I have been looking and Glanmire seems to be an ideal location in terms of being close to Cork but being able to make a quick escape to and from Fermoy.

Does anybody have any suggestions of nice areas to live that fit the bill, in terms of good living conditions, accessibility to Cork without a commute to Fermoy of more than 30 minutes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, glanmire fits the bill perfectly, if your not going to be socialising in the city on a regular basis and not using taxis a lot, then much better value can be had in properties in watetgrasshill

The 220 bus is very regular in Glanmire anyway so taxis would really only be for late night.

Glanmire yes would be perfect alright. Or someplace around little Island could be good, mind there isn't much there for a younger person but the rent is a little cheaper around the area I think

I live in glanmire and I'm from Dublin. Quiet area but spot on for the city (5miles away) and the motorway
