    Hey Folks

I'm currently building a px rt 80 and have run into an issue when assembling the headset and forks. The bike uses an integrated headset, which is an FSA Orbit C-40 No.42 ACB Tapered Headset (OEM Only) / Black / 9 mm. The problem I am having is that when i install the crown-race and mount the bearing on top of it, the assembly still allows the bottom of the head-tube to contact with the top of the forks. This is a problem! Can I put some sort of a spacer under the crown race to allow sufficient clearance between the fork and the frame? we are talking only about 1 mm here.

    Cheers.

Ya, its tapered. Its impossible to mix them up, one is 1 1/8 the other 1.5.

I'd suggest get onto PX. If they provided all the pieces then I'd say the responsibility lies with them. I'd be worried that putting a spacer under the crown race could cause problems in the long run.

    Have to agree
If they gave you the correct headset - then there's an issue with frame
    I wouldn't bodge it with a shim ..
Crown races need to sit firmly on the shoulder of the steerer tube ..
A shim - no matter how slim may cause play that will multiple as it moves up the steerer
    Bring it back ..
